Ramesh Lakshminarayanan, CIO & Group Head-IT, HDFC Bank shares how AWS became the foundation of the bank’s cloud transformation journey, driving innovation, resilience, and industry-first digital experiences.
Since 2020, AWS has been the bank’s first choice for cloud adoption, enabling a secure transition from on-prem to public cloud through an industry-benchmark landing zone architecture.
Today, core digital platforms including net banking, mobile banking, AZAP, and large-scale CRM systems serving 90,000+ employees, run on AWS with active-active architectures. The bank is now rolling out next-generation digital channels built entirely by in-house teams, featuring innovations like passwordless banking, a 360-degree wealth view, and seamless insurance integration.
Looking ahead, the focus is on GenAI-powered banking experiences and fraud prevention, leveraging services like AWS Aurora and serverless architectures, supported by a deep, collaborative partnership with AWS. Click here to watch the video.
