Rohit Kilam, Chief Technology Officer at HDFC Life, shares how the organization is building a next-generation InsurTech platform to scale insurance access across India’s fast-evolving digital ecosystem.
Aligned with India@2047, HDFC Life has transitioned from legacy systems to a hybrid model and is now nearly 98% on the cloud, with AWS as the predominant platform. The focus has moved from cloud adoption to cloud-native architectures, enabled by containerization, multi-cloud frameworks, and modern design principles under a strategic program called Inspire. Built on a hybrid mix of COTS and homegrown applications, Inspire integrates seamlessly with on-prem data centres while steadily evolving toward fully cloud-native systems.
Governance, risk, and compliance are central, with AWS native services ensuring regulatory adherence, policy enforcement, and data security at scale, while AI and ML power the customer lifecycle end-to-end. Vernacular platforms enhance accessibility, and digital B2B/B2B2C integrations will drive future reach and scale. Click here to watch the video.
" AWS offers specialised services within its native cloud stack that help us meet regulatory requirements, enforce governance, and keep our customers’ data safe and secure.”— Rohit Kilam, CTO, HDFC Life
